  • Spinal Reflex Therapy (SRT)

Steve is the leading SRT therapist in South Eastern Virginia. SRT is a new, remarkably effective for pain relief and exclusively provided by Zed Therapeutic! SRT is a science-based soft tissue protocol that stimulates the physiology of muscles, joints, and the nervous system to reduce pain and soft tissue dysfunction throughout the body. SRT applies a steady pressure to specific points in the musculo-tendonous junctions, stimulating both tissue lengthening and release of the body’s natural pain relieving neurochemicals.
  • Sports Massage

This massage uses a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point techniques, focusing on specific muscle groups that are dominant in sporting activities. Depending on the client’s desired result, focus will be on the shoulder girdle and upper arms, the pelvic girdle and thighs, or the trunk. This massage is a great addition to a yoga practice, for preparation and cool-down (20 minute sessions).
  • Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of muscle and fascia, or connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense with intent to soften connective tissue. As a rule, deep tissue should not cause muscle bracing or for the client to have to catch her breath, as that would be physiologically counterproductive; however, tender areas of tension or injury may arise during the massage. Communication between therapist and client is essential.
  • Swedish

This is the most commonly offered and best known type of massage. The technique was developed by a Swedish physiologist, Henri Peter Ling in 1812. It uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and encourage relaxation.
  • Hand Massage

Rarely, the muscles, joints and skin of our hands receive the attention they deserve. Schedule a 20- or 30- minute massage to treat your hands.
  • Foot Massage

Our feet carry the weight of our bodies where ever we go. When was the last time you treated your feet to a professional massage treatment with soothing strokes, hot towels and refreshing lotions?. Schedule a 20- or 30- minute massage to treat your feet today.
  • Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy

We identify and treat hyper-irritable points in muscle that cause generalized pain, stiffness or weakness. A trigger point often refers pain to other locations on the body. This therapy will locate and deactivate the trigger point(s) using 3-phase ischemic compression.
